Anyone got pics of American Racing Bajas on a 97-03?
I've found a pretty decent deal on a like-new set of American Racing Baja rims (8-hole polished aluminum) but it's a long-distance deal so I can't see em in person to get an idea of how they'd look on my '97.
Does anyone here run em on their truck and could you post a pic? Hopefully on a Torr. Red extended cab, but I'm not fussy...I would just like to see them mounted on a truck.
Same goes for Mickey Thompson Classic IIs. I found a new set of these for a pretty good price and am debating between the two.
I have some pics of my Screw in my gallary with 16x10 Eagle Alloy 058's which are almost identical to the Baja's. They are in my old gallary, if you can find it (I can't)

Eagles and ARs aren't quite the same. The ARs will be more of a "face" wheel while the Eagles will be recessed more. A better comparison would be the Eagles and the MT Classic IIs.
I have the ARs on the 92 and thats exactly why I went with them over the other two.
I did see a SD with the AR Bajas in town here. Wasn't impressed by em in person...the wheel looks very "flat" compared to the MT Classic II (no dish to the face, just a slab of aluminum with holes in it). They look different on a truck than in the pix on the AR website.... DOH!
I missed out on the new MTs though (a local shop had a set in 16x8 on clearance), someone else snapped em up before me. Probably what I'm gonna wind up buying.
Not many styles available anymore for 5x135 wheels in 16" or 17".
Whether or not any of these wheels look deep dished or flat depends on the width and backspacing fo the wheel.

Roger that. I'm looking for 16x8 and probably 4" backspacing. I'd like a slightly wider stance since the truck has 1" flares on it and the stock 16x7 rims look real narrow in there.
The flatness I was referring to is the face of the center disk. The Bajas I saw yesterday on the F250 are about the same size, they had 285/75/16s on and were "pooched" pretty good so it wasn't a 10" rim.
The Baja is real flat and then a fairly steep step where the outer rim begins...compared to the MT Classics which have more of a curve to the face from center to the outer part of the rim.
Another option I've been considering is chrome 8-hole "rock crawler" style rims. They'd be easier to maintain in the winter too...just keep em waxed and wash the road salt off every few weeks. I've got a set of those for my Nissan and they don't look half bad when I set them up near my F150. If I go chrome steel, I could just as well go with a junkyard set of factory chrome steelies too though.
Personally, I'd go with a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of bs. That's what my Eagle 058's were.

If I'd be going for 285 or larger, I'd definitely consider a 10 wide rim. The tallest tire this truck is getting will be 265/75...it's got 3.55s & I'm not planning on regearing unless an axle dies. It's more of a "tow rig / winter commuter / part time hunting truck" so I'm not planning real big tires or a lift either (except just a t-bar crank to level it once the new HD rear leafs are installed).
I'll probably get shot for mentioning this here, but my serious off-road rig is a little Nissan reg-cab/short-box...My 97 F150 is more of a civilized truck.
TY for the pic Bonzo...that's about what I'm looking for. You running 285s on that? (Nevermind...just read your signature) Looks good!
I found this truck somewhere on a Google search...I think it was from someone's gallery here. Pretty much same truck as mine except I've got a fiberglass topper. For some reason, the Bajas just don't look right to me on this truck.
