I have read a few consumer reports that state theses hankook tires
are considered the best on/off road tires you can buy...
good for all weather including snow and good for mud too...
with little noise on road and excellant tread ware...
anyone have or had these tires or have an opinion???
I've read a couple of good magazine reviews on them.

I Love mine! Had them for over 2.5 years and they have around 53,000 miles on them with expectations of another 5-8k I would guess. They have been wonderful in all situations I have had them in.

any issues at al with driving these on the street/highway???
wet weather...snow...anything???
talked to a local tire guy and he said I would be making a big mistake putting these on my truck for everyday/street driving...
he recomended...
-bfg all terrain ta...not a tire he would buy though...
-yokahama geolander at...($975 installed!!!)
-goodyear wrangler
A lot of tire shops will try to sway customers away from MT's and really aggressive tires because of past problems with customers. A lot of people come in and want a MT or Super Swamper because they look cool. They are not aware of the downsides like noise, rough ride, etc. Then they come back wanting to "swap or trade" for a less aggressive tire and get mad when the shop doesn't want to trade even for a set of new AT's.
Just be sure you have considered all of this before you purchase a tire.
As for his recommendations, the BFG is one of the best AT's ever made. I've heard mixed reviews on the Yokahama's. And the Goodyear Wrangler is a line of tires, some good (Wrandler AT/S), some trash(Wrangler RT/S).

we dont really get snow here but all the other conditions you asked about i havent had any problems
i will buy another set of them when these wear out

Wow 53K out of them they must be showing there steel belts. Bought two sets for our farm trucks and both are looking real bad at 20K would be on there if they were not on farm trucks. Wearing really bad and are not that great off road compared to most MT. My guy at the GCR tire store I bough them and all of my tractor tires from said he bought a set for his same time as me and got 18K out of his before he was afraid to run them anymore. He is going to sell me my next set of tires for 40% off.

wow you must be way out of line
mine have almost 10k on them and i can't see any wear on them
i own a towing and repair shop and sold many sets
they do wear out faster on the big trucks like the f350 dsl but most mud tires wear fast on big dsl trucks .. its just the nature of the beast
but as far as on the f150, 1500,ect... they wear gr8

Actually nope, last time I checked they were around 5-6/32's each. That was a week or so ago. They are still locking up nicely in the rain too. I have been so pleased with these tires.
