A tale of two tires......

Been looking at replacement tires for my SuperCrew (265 70R17) and have narrowed it down to two:

Pirelli Scorpion A/T
26570R17 (due out in about 3-4 months I
was told by calling their 800 number)

Dunlop Radial Rover A/T
26570R17

Does anyone have any experience with these tires? Since the Pirelli model isn't out yet, I'll settle for opinions on any Pirelli info.

Thanks in advance.

Pirelli Scorpion A/T, and Dunlop Radial Rover A/T .... Like most tires are great when new. The problem is you will have to replace them at 25-30K miles.

Spend a little more $ up front and get some BFG AT ko's that will go 50K miles, it's actually cheaper in the long run, and you'll get better performance. Do the math.

If Michelin made the LTX AT in a 265/70R17 you could get 60k+ miles out of a set.

I have not heard anything negative about Pirelli Scorpion AT's in any size.

Have you thought about Bridgestone? I could be wrong, but I think they make a Dueler AT in that size.

Ihave 265/70's and love them. Have 80,000 km's on them now with a whole lot of meat left. I could probably get another 40,000 easy.

been working around tires for 15 years now.
new scorpions are a good tire i agree they
dont last as long as some but if you keep
them rotated every other oil change any tire will
last past its expeted life . (alignments help also )

Thanks for the feedback..

Yeah the BFG tire looks great and the reviews make it sound like the best thing since Jello pudding cups. It's a hefty price on em, and would definitely have to save up a while longer for em.

Since the Pirelli's aren't coming out for a few months I still have some time to debate it.

If anybody has photos of the BFG's on their truck I'd love to see em...

Thumbs up ProComp A/Ts have now caught my eye

Well I've been researching a bit more, and it seems there are a lot of fans of the ProComp A/T. looks like a nice tire.

Does anyone have these on the OEM 17" rims? If so, how's the handling? Just curious if the wide tire affects the handling of the tire on an OEM rim.

Thanks.
