It's time for new tires. My Gen Grabbers 255/70/16 suck at 32k miles. My local truck accessory dealer has BRAND NEW stock F150 LARIAT rims with 265/70/17 BGF Long Trails for $750. These are not the "saw" style rims, but the chromed "fat" five points that you see on the expeditions as well.

I current have these rims

Here are the rims I am considering:

I could sell my rims for $200+/-

Watcha think?

Thanks,

Bill

Thanks Big Red

After some research, the BFG tires are about $120 intalled, so the "deal" I thought it was, is really not a deal. I will probably go with Mich LTX M/S

I have the same 5 spoke 16" wheel you have on my 2001 Supercrew. The Wrangler RT/S tires are JUNK and basically wore out at 34K miles. I am considering either new tires in a larger size 265/75/16 or new 17" wheels and tires. I have bid on/seen the new FX/4 and the 17" chrome wheels you mentioned on Ebay. The chrome wheels go for more than the FX/4. For some reason, everyone wants those wheels. I like the chrome over the polished aluminum, but personally I am not willing to pay the premium. I do want to fill the wheel wells with a larger tire, but I really only need new GOOD rubber.

After much research on tire prices, I used another members suggestion and checked with Sam's Club( or Price Club, Costco). My Michelin LTX M/S 265/70/16 will run me only $141 per tire installed. They will need to special order the tires and will come in 7-10 days. Sam's has their version called the "X Radial", but I think it looks funny - like I bought a budget version.

I have heard a lot of members saying the GY tires suck.

Thanks for the responses.
