Post 2000 Wheels On 97
I am considering some post 2000 lightning rims for my 97 F-150. Some say they will work and others say not. Does anyone know for sure. I know the 97 has 12mm studs as apposed to 14mm studs for the 2000. Will this cause the studs to sheer off??
Also, is it possible to change from 12mm studs to 14mm studs??
Any help will be greatly appreaciated.
Thanks.

My question is how to secure the center caps from a 14mm wheel on a 12mm lug nut??? I put the 17" 10 hole aluminum wheels off my 2001 on my dad's 99, but I can't get the center caps to stay on. The old center caps from his steel 17" wheels don't fit right, they stick out 1/2" from the wheel. Maybe the caps from a 12mm aluminum wheel would work on his?

I tried squeezing them together, lost 1 cap in about 10 miles. I'm thinking that the 97-99 sawblade aluminum wheels might have a cap that would work. I wonder where I can find a set of those... Worst case I can always put the steel wheels back on his truck and sell the set of 10 hole wheels.
Thanks,
Mitch
