Question Brake Wear Sensors

I had my tires replaced under Goodyear Warranty a few months ago and the tire dealer said my brakes were getting close to the point they need Replaced. I can belive it at 38k mi. because of the stop and go driving I do. My question is will I should I hear those brake chirping alarms or do I need to pull the tires and check this out. Additionally, they said the brake pads are substantially worn more on the inner pads than the outer ones. Is this normal or are the caliper pins not moving properly.

Thanks for any info.

I just replaced the Pads on mine with just over 35,000 km on the Truck. I had been hearing a squeak and the brakes seemed to take more and more pressure to stop. The pads looked awful, especially the front ones. My friend did the work for me so all it cost me was the pads and a case of beer. I put premium pads on this time. I hope they will last a lot longer.
