Torsion bar crank?

Torsion bar crank?

is this a good idea or a bad one? had anyone done it? whats the ride like? will it affect anything else?

You'll probably pick up about 1 1/2", you might pick up as much as 2". It will ride stiffer buy isn't something you can't live with. Make sure to have your alignment checked once you have done it. It may or may not need to be adusted.

HOSRACN -

i have heard of the torsion bar trick before. how hard is it for someone who knows not much when it comes to truck repair. anyone know of a link with step by step instructions? thanks!

I found info on this site a while back, here is how I did it.

If you look under the truck on the driver's side, about 6" in, you will see a black bar about 1" diameter. Follow it towards the rear of the truck, it will stop about half way. There is a bolt at the end of it which I think is 1/2" (deep socket). The head of it will be pointing at the ground. Turn it clockwise to raise the front. I did 3-4 turns i think, which got about 1.5". You probably want to measure the height from the highest part of the fender to the ground before and after. Then do the the same thing for the passenger side. I will try to get pictures soon.

Thanks for the instructions. I've printed them out and I will be giving it a shot this weekend!
