rear disc conversion

I have a '97 that I want to do a rear disc conversion on. I just got some '02 lightning wheels and the drums look lame behind them, plus the brakes are weak anyway. I was wondering if anybody has done this and what I might run into. It dosen't seem like it would be too difficult , but I'm just not real sure as to everything I need, new mst. cyl. , etc? Any help would be helpful.

drum conversion

just buy those fake discs that mount behind the wheel and in front of the drum and save yourself some real pain. gotta pull the axle, change out the mod valve and not to mention the abs yadda yadda

Some have said it's best to just find a disc brake axle at the wreckers. Cheaper and less hassle.

Don't know though, haven't done it myself.

I don't know about adjusting the proportioning valve either. You'd probably want to snag the front abs sensors and the abs computer from a newer truck too.

Whoa, way more hassle than I was looking for. I think I'll stick with drums out back. Thanks for the input.
