Question warped Rotars

I know the rotars on my front brakes are warped.

Whenever I lightly apply the brakes the steering wheel shakes.

If I really press down (such as this morning when some !##$!~# cell phone using woman crossed two lanes to jump in front of my path) everything is smooth.

I know I need to replace them and probably the pads. I may do this work myself.

However how long can I go on rotars in this condition before the situation becomes life threatening?

Or by letting the rotars get this bad can I be damaging other components?

Thanks!

It is more an annoyance than anything. If it is bad enough that you could have trouble controlling the truck when your braking then it becomes a safety issue and it would fail inspection. But if it's not tot bad you could live with it without damaging the truck.

Considering the low cost of doing it yourself
you will feel better going ahead and doing
it. Just did mine had rotors turned and put
on new pads for $50.00, It is a 4x4 so i had
no grease seals or wheel bearings to worry
about but those are low cost items anyway.
Good Luck!
