Question Anyone have Falkens?

I am looking at the S/TZ01. Anyone have any experience with these? They are a decent price w/a 50,000 warranty. The tire is not that bad looking either. Does anyone have Falkens, and how are they?

I have some Romeo. Size 285-60-18. Pretty nice, look great, ride good, excellent handling traction, not too noisy.

Thumbs up

I asked the same question a while back, and no one who had them had anything bad to say about them. I'm going to get a set if I don't get wheels first. IF I do get a set of wheels, I'll probably use the STZ's.,,,,,98

thanks puddin, very nice looking ride. how do they handle in rain? as 98 will attest, we can have some pretty serious rains in this area, so that is important to me.

98, If you ever head east on I-10, and notice a big white smear on the dividing wall, thats whats left of my first F-150. I had never bothered researching tires before I buy until that day.

Unhappy

Sorry to hear that. I thought all tires were alike at one time too The GT-II's on the sport wheels made me remember that they're not. I can go as slow as 10-15 mph, hit a puddle on the side of the road, and the truck heads for the ditch Hydroplane specials. I'm about to start making money again, finally! I will definitely get some decent all weather tires as soon as I can afford them. I am seriously considering the Falkens. As much as it rains in Southeast TX, it's a neccessity!,,,,98

Romeo, they are very good in the rain. They have only slipped on me once, and that was because I was testing the limits on them. They are very good in all conditions besides the snow. Don't even ask me about the snow traction, almost slid into the pond on the way to work this winter.

Thanks guys. Puddin, mine should be in tomorrow, so hopefully I will have the same good fortune you have had. As far as snow, if that ever happened here, I dont think any tire could save any of us. Nobody has ever driven in it

Happy Easter everyone.

Sorry guys - don't look in this forum often. I have the Falkens in 285/60/18's also - LOVE THEM!! Just rolled 43K on mine - probably will get 50 out of them. Great traction, wet or dry. Lately I sometimes will spin them from a dead stop when wet, but they will quickly catch and go. Still great traction on dry pavement. I will definitely order another set, but I think I might go down to a lower profile if available, like a 275/60/18.

Question hello LightningCrew

Any problems with the 285-60-18 and the fit on your Supercrew? Or why would you drop down to a 275-60-18? Is there a clearance problem with those and the lightning wheels?

thanks

Not really any problems, just prefer a lower profile look. Does slightly scrub when making sharp turns at low speeds, but not enough to really worry about. I used an online tire calculator and a 265/60/18 is very close to the factory tire that was previously on there, but I am afraid if I go to that size, it will really open up the tire wells. Wife won't let me lower the entire truck (did drop the rear 2"), so I have to keep the wheel wells filled with something.
