parking break cable stretched?

Today I had my 30,000 maintaince inspection done at Goodyear and they told me that my parking break cable was stretched and so it looks like a warranty issue now. I have a 16' aluminum boat and asked them if I stretched it out of wack because of backing down the ramp and using it on a regular basis and he told me no that is not the reason. He did not know what the reason behind it being stretched so I'm just wondering what may have caused it and how long would the repair might take?? Thanks.

The parking brake cable will stretch. There is a procedure for tightening it in the Chilton's manual.

It is a little odd though. I park on a hill and use my brake every day and it still works just fine after 4 years and 75,000 miles.

Ford tech rate is 0.5 hours for replacement of the parking brake assembly.
