Thumbs up Anyone seen the "new and improved" GT-II's?

I just saw these at a shop here in Houston. They are a slightly different design, and are now V speed rated!!?? I'm not sure if they will still be the bargain they used to be, but they HAVE to be a much better tire now. The main question is if Ford will still use them as factory equipment. Anyone know??,,,,98

98,

did you happen to notice the tread pattern? I was curious to know if it changed any. What other noticable differences are there?

The sidewalls were ribbed, you know the ones that are real tough to get the tire dressing into The tread looked nearly identical, but I didn't do a side by side comparison. The shoulder blocks looked to be changed somewhat, a little more aggressive looking tire now. I have real bad hydroplaning problems with mine (old style). I don't see how that was very much improved, but maybe it has been. I mean how many tires could be rated that high and not handle a little water?,,,,98

I'm going to look into them on the web, and post any links I find. Maybe some site will show the differences?.....hmmmm

I've got them

I just had my 20's put on Tuesday and with those tires. The side walls do not give an inch but then again I am coming from 275/60/17 to 275/45/20.

Cool

Hey Screamer, I got tired of trying to hook up those GT II's. This is the way I am solving my traction problem these days!

This will be the new set up at FFW in Atlanta in April!

Hehehe, now that's some traction. What pressure do you run in them at the track?,,,,98

Cool

I don't know what pressure I will run yet. I will probably start around 20 lbs and go from there. I haven't run them as they just arrived about two days ago!
