12mm or 14mm??????

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between 12mm and 14mm wheel lugs? I would like to buy a set of 17" ORP (buzzsaw) type wheels but don't know which ones I need. Are the wheels different or just the lug nuts? Any help would be appreciated!

Sometime between October and December of 1999- during the production of the 2000 model trucks- Ford changed from 12mm to 14mm lugs. It'll be tough to tell the difference by just "looking".

Here's what I have done- sorry, it gets a little confusing:
Took the factory rims off my 2000 F150 (14mm lugs) and put them on a 1997 Expedition (12mm lugs). Later, I took the aftermarket rims off "my" 2000 F150 (still has 14mm lugs) and swapped for my father's 2000 F150 (12mm lugs) factory rims. All the wheels fit all the vehicles with no problems. Just had to be sure to use the right lug nuts.

You can look at the factory lug nuts and tell. The 12mm nuts will have 100 ft/lb stamped on them, the 14mm 150 ft/lb.
