Tire size help, please

No...the '04 had a Daystar 2-1/2" kit and had Bilstein HD shocks front and rear. That truck was leveled in 2005 when it was one year old...I put 100K miles on it and sold it in '11. Truck was still in great shape.

Oh yea...plenty of power for me anyway. I have been very surprised at how well it gets off the line and up to speed for a small V6 and a heavy truck. The fuel economy is great too, even with me pushing it all the time.

Those tires are about 32". The stock tire size is probably 29". You would probably need a leveling kit of some sort for the front end, or you will experience rubbing when you turn.
I wouldn't do it. It's a '97, and I doubt if someone gave you brand new wheels and tires. The reason I caution against it, is because aged tires, even with good tread, can be hazardous. Tires do not have an expiration date, but they do have a production code to show when the tire left the factory. Tires degrade over time. I just replaced a 10 year old set of tires that had great tread left. But you could see the cracks in the rubber. They could have blown out at any time. Especially with the extra weight from a heavy truck.
If it were me, any money spent on a '97 would be to keep the truck running. Those wheels & tires would not improve your performance in any way.
I believe that lift & level kits are still available for a '97. You may even get a great deal since whichever seller still has it in stock, knows that nobody is walking in to buy 1 any time soon. Actually, now that you can get mods & parts for a '97 at a good price, you may even want to think about building that truck into something like a show truck. Lift it. Paint it. Resto-mod what's under the hood. Give it more power. Custom interior.
