285/65/20 BFG KO2 on 2" level (pics)

After kicking it around for a long time while I saved up, I finally pulled the trigger on a 2" HBS level and 285/65/20 BFG KO2's for my 2008 KR 4x4. Let me know what you all think. Possibly some 1.5" wheel adapters next to push them a bit past the fenders?

Looks great. Not to big and still that aggressive look.

How's the road noise? I assume your going from stock perelles?

I have only driven it home from discount tire so far so not a great opportunity to assess road noise just yet, but u have heard nothing but awesome reviews so far. I am actually coming from Michelin Ltd ms/2. They were good tires but are actually part of a recent recall. That's how I was able to get a full set of these bfgs for dirt cheap. I will advise on noise and performance once I have a better idea. The looks are complete bad *** though.

Congrats! Those are some great looking tires.. There a lot bigger looking in person than they are in pics aren't they .

As far as spacers, I don't run them but there are a few on here that are with oem wheels, maybe they will chime in.. I have a feeling you want to keep you KR wheels but personally, I'd go to a wider wheel with a slightly different offset and that would make your tires sidewalls wider and give you the stance your looking for. It's the 8.5" wheel that kills the look.

Noise wise I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.. Mine aren't very different than the KO2's except for the sidewall and I gotta tell you... These tires are very quiet and Super smooth.. Good luck with them

You are half correct in assuming that I want to stay with the KR wheels. I do love the look of them and haven't found any aftermarket wheels that look natural with the color combo of my truck. I personally don't think black wheels looks good on the KR mahogany/gold color combo. Secondly, I just don't have the cash to spring for 4 wheels right now. And yes, they are bigger than they look, but I was more impressed with how aggressive they look in person. It almost looks like a mud tire. Im in love so far.

Looks good as is without the spacers. It might look strange with the stock wheel pushed out. I'd leave it!

Yeah, I've been on the fence about it. I know a lot of guys have run the Bora spacers without any trouble, but I still am reluctant to take the risk. In all likelihood I will leave them as is.

So now I need some advice on what I should save up for next? Thinking probably a programmer. Any other ideas?

I would do programmer first to correct your speedo, then Harley Davidson style lights(OEM or retrofit with HID's), catback exhaust setup, tonneau cover, then new wheels (9" wide).

where do most people find harley headlights and/or how much would retrofits with HID's be?

Also I would tint the front side windows to match the rear, just did that to mine looks 10x better and cooler in the summer heat.

As far as Harley style headlights, you have 5 options I think:

1)BEST looking and quality - buy OEM ones from TASCA, cost $400 (I did this, looks great though). Awesome gloss black paint inside really pops.
2)Buy Chinese knockoff's from Ebay for $100 (paint will be matte black and won't match, and quality is lower, good enough if you want to ghetto it). Trust me I know I bought them and returned them and bought OEM.
3)Open up your headlights with the bake method and paint yourself. Will look better than option 2 but not as good as option 1 (Paint will be spray can, you have to reseal lights with possibility of leaking, you'll have a nasty looking RTV seal as compared to OEM sealed lights, etc.) - cheapest option
4)Option 3 and add HID retrofit kit (good but $$$ and time)
5)Pay someone like Saleen or some other guys on here to do a retrofit with black painted lights, most expensive but probably the best - Costs is around $500-$800

Thanks so much for all the help. What advice/recommendations do you guys have for cat back exhaust? I love horsepower and mpg as much as the next guy but I don't really want anything that's going to be loud. Are there any kits out there that add some giddyup without making it louder? Also what custom tuners do y'all swear by? Thanks again everybodyeverybody.

I had the Edge Evolution on my '04 Lariat and was well pleased. It let me correct the speedometer when I ran 35's and with the ability to adjust shift points and bump the timing the truck ran great. I also find that keeping the tires tucked in keeps the road spray off the sides of the truck and tire noise down a bit. My son in law runs the same 285x65x20's on his F-250 and loves them so far with close to 10K miles on them so far. You have your truck looking good as is!!

Truck looks good! Classy an elegant as all KRs are. Some spacers would help it with some stance for sure.

As far as Harley Davidson lights, I say nay. You have the KR copper paint and two tone, gonna look pretty goofy with some 'stealth' and black out mods. Keep it all stock looking outside for the clean classy KR elegance. Or have the two tone paint matched to body and do some blacking out. Either way, in my opinion, all of the tan would have to go.
