Is this a failing Wheel bearing?

And my luck continues lol.

New Centric Conversion kit installed August 2013.

A few weeks back I noticed a hum sensation when I turn right. It comes from the front drivers side. If I drive on an uneven surface like the road crown with my driver side tire, I get the same sensation. It's hard to describe but it's not loud like wheel bearings I've heard before but I can hear it and feel it. I do think it is slowly getting worse tho. I notice it especially when the speeds are higher and I turn right which really loads the drivers side.

Luckily, the hub is pretty cheap, but I don't want to let this go due to the obvious repercussions of a failed Wheel bearing and the weather will be changing here soon enough so I want to tackle this asap.

Is this a good plan of attack? Order the hub so I have it since it's around $70 and then rotate the tires just to be sure before I do this. Thoughts?

Right turn noise is left hub loading up

I've personally seen a hub centric hub go bad out of a pair with normal use after a year or two

Might as well do both. If one is failing, the other isn't far behind. I recently replaced both on the Expedition. I replaced one and it wasn't but a couple months later that the other went out.

Correct Pat... I turn right and Driver side loads since the weight shifts.

I'd be leery replacing both of them them since I just bought them a year ago. I only have about 12k miles on them

My Centric conversion kit lasted 34,000 miles before I had to replace both. Must be a bad batch because most people don't have a problem.

I'm thinking you're right man. I read of such few issues. I tend to have the luck that I'm the one that has the stupid problems. I'll tackle this Saturday. In a few weeks I'll order the second one just to have in case. Although, looking at their website, it looks like the bearing assembly is replaceable? I wonder if a shop could press that in for me so I'd have a spare.

I'd be really tempted to convert to 09+ spindles and bolt in sealed hubs.

Interesting thought. When I buy my new car I'm going to lower the truck down another inch and 3 out back. I was planning on Drop spindles

Swapped the wheel bearing assembly out? My truck had a bad drivers side wheel bearing and I had not a single audible noticeable sign. Then again, I had M/Ts on.

I swapped out the hub. I'm going to see if a shop will press in a replacement bearing so I have a spare. Centric sells just the bearing

I did as I like the ability to swap rotors. I still need to get the old one repacked. Should do that soon lol
