I realize you've made your decision and probably bought your tires. However, let me also second the recommendation of the Michelin LTX M/S's. Absolutely amazed at the traction in the snow! Very good road manners and wet road performance.
Also I've liked the Cooper's I've had. An under-rated tire IMO.

Actually I won't be buying them for a few weeks . . . I will check out the M/S's though and see how they look. We do get quite a bit of snow but if it gets too bad, just pop er in 4x4
I'm actually a little younger than you, graduated from College Heights in the early 90's . . . yeah the cut banks are a blast. There's actually a fairly nice little park up there now if you go up the Hart Hill and hang a right to go towrads the cutbanks there is a pullout . . . I think it's Macillian Creek Regional Park. t's got a nice trail up to the cutbanks and a couple picnic tabls up there . . . great view.
Hope you bag a couple deer . . . gotta love venison !
