I'm thinking it would be okay, but I don't know. It should definitely protect them though once it's on there. Might take some of the sheen away though. I think this might have been what I saw before:

http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-opti-coat.html

I've officially decided that I would fine running 20x12s on 35x12.5 Nitto or Toyos, from a looks and fitting standpoint (I like completely vertical sidewalls, but no stretch). Those tires are oversized enough to work, but cheaper ones aren't wide enough. Just want some kind of reassurance that the really expensive tires would actually wear properly. I've seen some say it's fine and others say it trashed their tires, and I can't see how they could wear properly with how they're stretched that much. But a bunch of people are doing it, so . . . I might spring for 13.5" wide tires in another brand. So I'll keep searching for info. Otherwise, back to 20x10s

I'm extremely picky, but this is way worse than normal!

Posting these so I can find them later, but here are a pair of links with the 970s mounted. I still think they look pretty good and like the gloss. The 4"+ lip looks badA Still a toss-up in the looks department and several sites have the Mavericks featured on their banners or shop trucks, which is a turn off.

I would, but there are several things steering me away from 20x12s. Whole front end will be under significantly more stress, that's all ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, etc. on a truck that's already closing in on 100k. Then I'd have concerns with them fitting, cause I'll only be at 4x4-with-simple-6" height. Most 4x4s gotta bump to 8 just to clear the darn things. That's exascerbated by 13.5" wide cause I'm not loving stretching 12.5" on them, though I could get over it from a looks stand point. But 12.5s would wear like crap, I feel. But then lastly, and this really is one of the larger concerns, Toyo and Nitto don't have a 13.5" tire and I don't care for any others. Pro Comp, ehh they aren't a tire company and I don't know who makes their tires. Fuel tires are made by Tri-Ace, so those are crap. I don't like Coopers at all, think they're ugly as sin. My favorite looking tire are Mickey Thompsons, but a set of 35x13.5s are almost $2k once mounted, versus $1700 for Nittos. And Cooper makes those, so I don't trust them to get me 45k+ miles.

Such a mouthful . . . but I saw a 6" lifted 4x4 today with 20x10 -24 Rockstars on 35" Mud Grapps (asked owner to confirm) and I'd be thrilled with that stance. I can't get the angles I need to determine true stance just from pictures; gotta see it in person.

But 20x12 962s on 35x13.5s ARE really where it's at Wheels that wide command a lot of attention and make the truck significantly larger than a truck with tucked 35s. Screw my wimpy, IFS, half-ton front end.

I'm planning on getting a body lift at some point anyway, and I think 35x13.5s would rub enough to force me to do it quickly.

I also need to make sure I get a parking pass outside for the next school year cause my truck only clears the 6'8" height of the garages by like 4" T'will be interesting cause the vast majority of spots, and ALL the good ones, are in garages

Felt the need to give some closure to this thread and/or update it.

I got my 35" Trail Grapplers mounted on my 20x10 -24 Fuel Mavericks. I just rolled them in front of my old wheels to get a feel for how they look.

Funny thing about the T Grapps is that they're only 34.5" x 12.5" inches, even without any load/weight on them. Specs list them at 35"x13" in actual size. Doesn't matter at all, just found it interesting because they're supposed to run large, so other tires must really run small!

August 19th . . . If the company I got my wheels from had told me they were shipping them, I'd have had the lift on last week. The wheels kinda showed up unannounced, so I couldn't plan ahead. But now I'm leaving town for a month later this week, so it'll have to wait. It's going on the second I get back!

Final closure for this thread. 6" Fabtech, 2" AS level, 5 " Fabtech blocks, 20x10 Fuel Mavericks, 35x12.5" Trail Grapplers.

I'm super happy with how it came out. 8" up front with 5" blocks and the rear is still 2.5" lower somehow, but other than that I freakin love it! The tires still out exactly as much as I wanted them, it's taller than I was expecting, it drives great, tracks straight, UCA angles are fine, LOVE it.

I think I mentioned this before but there is a local kid on 33s and 20x12 on a 2.5" level and 2wd...
how does the guy fit 33s on 20x12s? I'm curious because i am getting some major rubbing on front bumper
