Brake Problem

1998 F-150 4X4 5.4L, I started having a brake problem about 6 months ago. Only on a hard brake my pedal would become a little mushy and there would be a ticking noise coming from under the dash on the drivers side. At first it would only happen about ounce a month. It recently has gotten worse and it is happening accasionally when I come to a normal stop. The brake pedal seems to loose a little pressure and again I hear the ticking noise from under the dash. When I let off the pedal and then press it again it seems OK. I have front disc and drums in the rear. Any suggestions? Thanks

sounds like you are pushing so hard that you are engaging the ABS. If so, its normal.
