1999 4x4 w/ Stock 17" Rims - Largest Tire?

I found several threads listing sizes for 16" rims, but nothing for stock 17" wheels. Can someone please advise the largest tire I can fit? (If it matters, I believe the PO cranked the torsion bars, as the truck sets level.)

Thanks.

Andy

The largest tire you can fit is a 315/70-35x12.50, but you would have to do some trimming.

I would go with a 295/70 or a 305/70.

I had 285/70's on my 2000 4x4 with torsion bars cranked it you want to look at the pics. They are the most popular upsize but always kinda wished I had a little bigger.

I'm running a full 33x12.50x17 on mine with no torsion bar crank/lift and I don't have any issues. I used to run the more common 285/70/17 size, but like the fuller look of the 33x12.50x17.

Right, a 315/70-17 (35x12.50) will fit but they will rub the frame slightly at full steering lock.

Thanks guys. I'll keep this for reference when I need to buy my new shoes this summer.

Hawg, I wouldn't mind seeing pics if you'd like to post a link.
