Need New Tires. Toyo A/T vs. BFG A/T

My truck's in dire need of some new treads...
I'm pretty set on getting either BFGoodrich A/T or Toyo Open Country A/T. At my local Town Fair Tire, the Toyos are cheaper, so I'm leaning toward them. I was just curious to know if anyone has had a problem with either the toyos or the BFGs, and what tire would other members choose.

Also, 265/75/16 will fit perfectly fine on my bone stock '99 Lariat with 16" wheels, correct?

Those are two of the best all terrian tires available. That size will fit fine whether you have a 4x2 or 4x4. If you have a 4x4, I'd go with at least a 285/75-16.

although both tires have a excellent rep-my vote is for the BFG's!!as long as you keep em balanced/rotated every 6k they should last a while!! I've had my bfg's since July and have already balanced/rotated twice and they look like new!!

plus my Dad had these on a International Scout II and he got 70k out of his- they were at the treadware bars but they lasted 12 years!!

I really liked the Toyos when I had them on my truck. There really is no knocking either tire. The Toyos have a nice aggressive pattern and are very quite and also have a great warrantee and a 30 day trial period. The BFGs have a better tread design and have better offroad traction but are much louder than the Toyos. IMO

I've had both and I'd have to give the nod to the BFG's because they rode smoother, looked a little better and couldn't wear them out even after 4 year's. Sold them with 43k miles and were only half worn. Got tired of looking at them! The Toyo AT is by no way a bad tire, I just prefered the BFG's.

I will be going with the BFGs for my next set. I had them on MY F150, and loved them, they had 30K on them when I sold it, with another 15 to go. I put Firestone Dest ATS on my Expd, and they are great tires. They ride and handle great, are quite, and have done well off pavement. However at 15K miles, they are showing siginificant wear, rotated every 5K, and I will be lucky to get 30K out of them. The 265s are the same exact diameter as teh 265/17s fitted stock, the 285s are a nice step up.

I had the BF's on my last truck. I drive gravel quite a bit and the gravel just chewed them. I am running the Toyo's right now and so far I like them. The only bad thing about the Toyo is that I have the 10 ply. On the 06 they were a very rough, stiff ride. I put them onto my 09 and I can't notice a difference now. They sure did something better to the suspension on the 09's!

I loved my toyo a/ts, if I didn't I wouldn't have stayed with Toyo tires when I went bigger. Rode real smooth and weren't loud at all. Loved how my truck looked with them too. I have pics in my album with them I think.
