How far will they stick out? Lots of questions...

Hey all, been a fan of the site for a while but just got around to actually registering.

I'm looking to get a new set of tires n rims for my 02 4x4 extended cab, but don't really know where to start... Has 3 inch lift installed.

I was looking at 17x9 Moto Metal 951's in 295/70/17 Toyo Open Country MT's.

Anyone know the backspacing of the 951's? I believe its 4.5 but not sure. How far will they stick out? I'd like to get at least an inch or so of rubber showing, but I have no idea how to get it. I want a really aggressive look. Could I go wider with the tire?

Also, what is the bolt pattern for my truck? The sites list 5 on 4.5, 5 on 5, 5 on 5.5, etc.

Sorry for all the mixed and probably obvious questions in advance... my search window isn't working.

Any pics or info would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome!

Is your truck a 4x4 or a 4x2 because that makes a big difference.

You should be fine with that wheel tire combination provided that you can find those wheels in a 5x135mm bolt pattern. Usually the backspacing with larger tires would be between 3.5(min) and 4.5(max) and most places will tell you to use 16x8 or 17x9's when it comes to wheels.

I have 16x10s with 4.5 inches of backspacing which puts the tires about two inches or so. Here is a pic.

Yes sir.. no problem! Thanks!

5x135mm is the bolt pattern of your truck yes. You can get wheel adapter though that can change your bolt patter to 5x5 if you decide that you want wheels not made in a 5x135 pattern. If its a 4x4 and has a 3" lift then you have the option of running 35" tires if you want to. They will fit so long as you get after market wheels. You will want to stick with a taller more narrow wheel tire combination though i.e. the 17x9's on 35x12.5's.

Its all up to you though, and what you are wanting to do. You will be just fine with the wheels and tires that you had suggested to begin with. Just make sure that they are 5x135mm.

THe OEM wheels are either 16x7's or 17x7.5's with 4.5 inches of BS for a reference. If you want an aggressive stance, go with a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of BS.

I can't seem to find a set of 33x12.5 for a 17x9 inch rim. 35x12.5 is tempting, but im not sure if it would fit as good as 33's rubbing wise..

If anyone has pics or input it is greatly appreciated!

if your having trouble finding the 33x12.5's then search for the size 285/70-17 or if you wanna go to a mud tire I toyo makes a 295/70-17 in the MT. 35's are really nice though then you dont have any regret of not going big enough.

Ugh... looking at all these trucks makes me wanna go bigger.

Will I needed extended brake lines and such for a 6" or 7.5" suspension lift? Or anything else other than the kit?
Thanks!

If extenderd brake lines are needed, they will be included in the kit. However, most of the time they are not needed. If you add a 6 inch suspension lift with your 3 inch (I assume body lift) you are gonna want to run at least a 37 inch tire which means you will have to install lower gears.
