Suggestions for other mods

i purchased this truck new right before the the 09s came out. So i got a awesome deal on the truck ( dealership actually showed me the invoice and holding time of the truck). So far I have put just shy of 2 grand of mods to the truck .

They include:
- 20" Liquid metal wheels and Cooper zeon ltz tires
-SIDO flowmaster 40 series exhaust, 3.5 x 18 SS tips
-westin bull bar
- 2.5 inch AS leveling kit

What do you guys think of the truck? and I would like suggestions for what else to add to the truck

Your original image link was bad... you tried to link to "http://http//www.f150online.com/forums/members/mjvess1985-albums-new-wheels-tires-picture46037t-dsc-"

too many "https" and I think you were missing the end of the picture name.

As for mods, I'd suggest some PTM bumpers. Or chrome your rocker panels !

thanks NCSU for posting those pics. I totally agree with you guys about the chrome bumpers, I just really dont know how to fix it. If I paint the bumper gray to match the sides, the chrome grille will probably look out of place.

I definitely dont want chrome rocker panels. I dont know why Ford put a grey rocker panel with a chrome package, but I couldnt turn down the deal on this truck.

It wont be hard or expensive to replace either paint the grill surround or just buy a new one. I saw go black and it will look the exact same as NCSU's truck.

Mine's actually a 2-tone with dark grey...

1st day home:

Now:

back to the OP: Since you've already got a black bull bar, I'd say go black all the way around and replace the grille.

I've thought about getting mine sprayed with Line-X with the Xtra (I'd go with Black, but they have lots of colors) but I don't think there'd be enough of a change to make it worth it. Your truck on the other hand, would benefit greatly from such a treatment.

Think of it this way, since you don't want to chrome the rockers, you should, at a minimum, PTM your bumpers to the light grey currently on the rockers. I don't know how that'd look though. And you're right, at that point you'd need to swap out the chrome grille for something else. So why not get everything painted or Line-X'd at once and have it look great? I suggest Line-X because the areas we're talking about take the most abuse and Line-X will hold up much better than paint.

- NCSU

Edited to Add: I went back into your gallery and noticed the two pics I posted make it appear your rockers are tan, not light grey.

I think bumpers would look better in lt.grey, you could just have the bumpers coated with Line-X Xtra in Grey and that would be much less expensive than doing the rockers as well.

will the the linex have a smooth "LOOK" or a rough look too it?

I really like the line-x brand of bedliners and have intentions on putting it in the bed of the truck, just havent really thought about how it would look on the bumpers

The line x won't be smooth but from a distance and in pictures it will appear mostly smooth. It will be textured just like the bed liners are. If you wan to see some pics check out my gallery or the link in my sig for pics of mine. Mine is rhino brand but it's the same thing cept no line x dealers around me

Rough....

Spike Strider had his bumpers and steps done...

After:

If you get the Line-X, be sure to look into the Xtra. It's a color matched finish that will supposedly last nearly forever. I'm still thinking of doing it to my truck.

I agree...

PTM your rockers and bumpers the same color then stand back and look at it. You may not have to do anything with the grill cause you still have chrome on the wheels and other parts of you truck. You just might like it that way. By the way, your truck is sweet!
