Leveled 4x2 Screw, need some tire help

'05 Lariat Screw 4x2
3" front level
1" block back

Looks really solid but am now wanting new tires. Sticking with OEM 18" wheels. Was told that if I go too wide (since they are only 7.5" wide), that 11" tires or so will wear badly in the middle and such.

My question and request for help is this.
285-65-18's? I feel like the 275-70-18's would be a bit more narrow at 10.7" wide and would wear better. Is this assumption correct.

Also, I am torn between these tires. I have friends with several kinds:
BF Goodrich A/T KO's (hate how pricey they are, but havent hear a bad word about them)
TOYO AT's (buddy has them and says they are solid)
General Grabber AT2 (do they hold up)
Mickey Thompson ATZ (do they wear too fast)

I basically want a bigger tire that looks aggressive but is suited for 85% highway travel.

All comments and help is greatly appreciated. Pics to follow.

I'd go with the 285/65-18's. Yes, if you mount too wide of a tire and don't watch your air pressure, the center portion of the thread can wear faster than normal.

IMO go with 305/65-18's, 285's looked to small on my factory 18's so I went up to 305's and like it way better. It only rubs the lower control arm (barely) at full lock. Pictures of it both ways are in my gallery.

He has a 4x2 which sits 2 inches lower than a 4x4.
