Toyo or BFG

ok so i went to Off Road Enterprise were my dad has been dealing with him for years with his blazer, his chevy 3500, and f-350. i was there getting quotes and i was origionally going to be getting 35in BFG's all terrains. He showed me the Toyo Open Country All Terrain's and now im not sure which tire i want to get. im getting a 17in rim. so any one with 17in rim with 35in BFG's or the 35in Toyo's can post up pics maybe give me sort of like a review on how u like the tires. The guy said the toyos wear about the same as the BFG's, but ive read a whole bunch of reviews that they wear fast, and there a lil bit wider the the BFG's. thanks in advance to the people that help.

I would go Toyo, they look better than the Bfg's to me anyway. The Bfg's do wear real well, but the toyo has a sweet look to it.

i love the look and traction my BFG all terrains have BUT im fed up and this will be my last set...i can longer deal with unability to balance these crappy tires..my next set will be the Nittos(pretty much same as toyos but with more sidewall traction) or the cooper zeons.

Both are excellent tires. Also, Toyo also manufacturers the Nitto Terra Grappler, which is essentially the same tire.

X2, Only thing I heard is the toyos at doesn't last as many miles as the nittos. Can't say from my own experience though.

maxout:

in what ways do you think the Toyo's are MUCH better?

road mileage yes. Overall MT tire theres no way.

the BFG KM2's will get atleast 35k under that power wagon which weighs alot more than any F150. They will BY FAR out perform Toyo's offroad and look better too IMO but thas argueable.

Im sorry but the people that have actually used their Toyo MT's 95% of them have be seriously disapointed in how quickly they gum up. Toyo sacraficed offroad performance by giving the tire a HARD rubber compound that does not flex much, add that to a BIG rim small side wall combo that is popular now and you get nothing out of them. They will do decent for the occasional person that wanders offroad when hunting or fishing, but from the majority that ive talked to and offroaded with theres very few that like the tires offroad. Nobody will ever have anything bad to say about them on the road they are probably the best tire for street use but offroad they are simply un impressive.

If you really dont believe me look up member F150rider he had 35" toyo MT's got sick of them and got a set of 36" Iroks (not really a MUD tire more of a trail tire) but still enjoyed the performance over the Toyo MT's
