Backspace??

I have an 06 FX4 with an AS level kit. Original tires and wheels. I want to switch out the wheels for ATX thugs and go with Terra Grapplers. How big (wide) a tire can I go with and not have any rubbing issues? 295,305?? Also, I have read alot about backspacing. Im still confused. In a nutshell I want the tires to be flush with the wheelwells. Don't want them sticking out a few inches beyound the wells. What should I look for in backspace? Thanks

Your OEM wheels are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of bs as a point of reference. Stay close to that if you want the tire/wheel to be flush. You can easily fit a 33x12.50.

Thanks, Wandell. How does 33x12.5 translate into the other numbers I see on my tire(275/65 etc)??

Depends on the wheel size. A 305/65-17, 305/60-18 and a 305/55-20 are all 33x12.50 tires.
