I love my 35's on my 2.5" leveled 4x4, I think it would look small with 33's. when I went to have mine mounted they wouldnt put them on my truck for some reason, they told me there not allowed to put tires on a truck if the replacement tires are bigger than what ford recommends. So I just had them mount and balance and then put them on my self, so if they give you more trouble just take that route.
just for a different outlook, the guy at the shop is not being a tool. if there will be any chance of rubbing at all he has to tell you they won't fit. Otherwise he sells them to you and 1000 miles later you bring them back with scuffs and say he should have told you they wouldn't work. I don't mean you personally would do that but many many people would.

Ding Ding Ding.
If you give people any opportunity to have a way out of their purchase they will take it.
Oh, I thought for some reason you had 9" wide aftermarket rims... Your tire guy was a definite idiot... OEM wheels = no rubbing...
That is one good looking setup that way...
