Will these fit?

Will 315/75R/16 (35”x12.50”x16”) tires fit on oem 16" rims on a 97 2wd with a 1.5" daystar leveling kit? Minor rubbing wouldn't bother me too much.

Thanks

No, a 285/75-16 (33x11.50) or 305/70-16 (33x12.50) will be as large as you can go.

Alright, well I measured the height of my truck, and the front end sits only 3/4" (33.25" front, 34" rear) lower than the back. Is that enough that I couldn't fit some 295's (33.4")? I found a great deal on some and hope they would be fine. If I did put a leveling kit on it, it would sit 3/4" high in the front, not something I'd like.

If you are gonna try to fit a 295/75-16, you are gonna want all the lift you can get. If the front sits too high for you, just lift the rear.

Wandell knows his stuff! IMO, you are going to need a decent size lift for the 2wd. I ran 305,s with no lift on 16x10,s with minor trimming on the lower valance[98 Expy 4wd]. If you really want to go up, take the time and do it right, get it lifted with room to spare

Wandell is right. I know, because I have ran 295's.. actually I am running them now. I made the mistake of trying to without lifting it and those things were rubbing into my wheel wells when I made any kind of sharp turn. I would not recommend trying to run 295's unless you have aftermarket wheels and some sort of lift. A coil spacer is not going to cut it.. well it may, but its going to be a close call. I ran 285's on OEM wheels with a stock suspension for maybe a year and a half with no problems. Then again the 285's are 32.8's as opposed to 295's which is a 33.4. The 285's are narrower also.

I ended up buying the 295's, only because I got a killer deal. They are BFG A/T TA KO's, which I've read lots about on here. I ordered a daystar 1.5" leveling kit last night, and will be installing it Wednesday. We'll see how things work out.
