Need winter set up for 2008 Harley

I am going to get winter rims and tires for my Harley this year and am trying to decide what to get.

Tire23 can get Nascar Daytona 17' rims with Hancooks for $1550 ( good price in CDN $) out the door and I think I kinda like them. What do you think? I can't spend alot of dough as I need to buy rims and tires for my car too. Not sure how good the red stripe will look with the orange on the truck.

I am not too concerned with how good the rubber is as I did just fine with my stock tires last winter. I am more concerned with preserving my 22's!

Also, I am not interested in buying from US (shipping not cost effective)

Any thoughts/opinions?

You could also purchase some stock wheels/tires. A few people have some for sale in the classified section.

Hey Wes, Stock set up is also an option I am considering. I keep seeing local adds for (new takeoff's) stock 17" aluminum with either all seasons or Firestone Winterforce tires. Price is usually posted at about $875 CDN which is tempting.
Wonder if my Harley centre caps would fit??

Winter tires

Just picked up some Cooper M&S (used one winter and look it) along with 4 used oem steel rims to get mine ready for winter. All set up came to under $400. Tires came off CL, 2 rims came from a local salvage yard but the other 2 I had to have shipped in due to 7 lug bolt pattern. One place I found was car-parts.com, hooks into alot of salvage yards, that's how I found the other 2 rims.

By the way, something to think about if you haven't already is backspacing. If the tires stick out and you drive in slush and snow, it's going to be all over the side of your truck. I like mine to keep inside the fender for just that reason.

Good luck in your search.
