I having some rough vibrations emanating from my front drivers side wheel/tire. It started about 2 weeks ago. The wheels are stock 17 alloys and the tires are 285/70/17 BFG KMs. 2WD SuperCrew with 2.5 inch leveling kit

At first I thought I just had a wheel/tire that was out of balance. I swapped the passenger and driver side wheel/tire and the problem stayed with on the driver side.

Few things that I've noticed:

1. Vibration happens a higher speeds, roughly 40MPH and up

2. Really only happens when I have to turn left on a curving road, it gets really loud. On the highway if the curve is to the right no problems, if its to the left ***VIBRATIONS***

3. Sure its not a wheel/tire issue.

Any thoughts? Its getting worse (i think at least) Possible bearing failure?

You should swap front to rear to test a vibration problem, not side to side. Makes it impossible to diagnose it as a tire/wheel problem. See if the vibration goes from steering wheel to seat. Other than that, the other possibility is a bearing.

 

Sorry, should have been clearer. The vibration is felt through out the truck. Not so much in the steering wheel and it only happens when I have the steering wheel turned to the left :S

This weekend i moved the wheels/tires that were on the back axle to the front axle. Took the truck for a spin and the problem is still there. I think i've pretty much ruled out an unbalanced wheel.

Any other thoughts? Its really strange to me that it only happens when I turn left at 40 MPH+

 

Just a thought, but would worn ball-joints cause a vibration problem?

 

youve got a cooked wheel bearing my friend. The rotor/bearing assembly is about 80 bucks is an easy change. The vibration get worse turning left because since its your drivers side the weight is lifting from that tire going to the passenger side.
The best way to make sure that the bearing is gone is to jack the tire off the ground and see if it wiggles

 

OK, I'll give that a shot. Truck was going to get a brake job in the next week or so, so I guess new rotors will be included as well

i kind of had a similar problem,turned out my right front caliper was sticking and the brakes were sticking the whole time making the truck vibrate
