Help. I know what I want. Dont know how to get it.

Alright guys.

I have been looking at different rims and tires since I bought my truck back in May. I know exactly the look I want but I don't know how to get it. I want 20x9 rims, most likely chrome, with 35" tires. I know I am going with BFG AT's. I really like Dog'em's truck (pictured below: Dogem, hope you don't mind I used your pics). The stance is perfect. The tires stick out about 1.5 or 2 inches past the wheel well giving it a strong, athletic, clean look. He says he has about 5.9" of backspacing with a 12x9 rim and around a 35" tire with a leveling kit and AAL. All with no rubbing. In order to achieve his look he used 1.5" spacers. I am nervous about using spacers so what I would like to do is find some 20x9 rims that come from the factory with about 6" of backspacing. I talked to wandell and he said that that is a pretty common setup but I have yet to find a wheel with those specs. I just dont know the right places to look yet. Anyway, just hoping that some of you would know where to direct me for the look I am wanting.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Yep, those 20x9's with 6.18 inches of backspacing may allow you to fit a 285/65-20 (35x11.50) BFG AT KO with little or no rubbing. However, it's gonna be a tight fit anytime you try to fit a 35 inch tire using an aftermarket wheel.

Hes running 35's with a 1.5 in spacer. Heck I would throw a spacer on mine and run 285's if I knew it wouldn't hurt anything. I just want it to poke out alil more from the fender well.

If you are talking about a wheel spacer, I'd stay away from them.

Strikeswiftly, I know man it looks sooooo good but like wandell says, i am not real comfortable with putting on a spacer. Hey wandell, another question for the wheel guru:

In regards to backspacing, will less backspacing mean the wheel will stick out more or do I have it wrong? For example: a 4" backspace will stick out more than a 5" backspace?

You are correct. The less the backspace, the more the wheels stick out.
