tires for 04 supercrew

I have an 04 supercrew with 55K on the stock tires. Time for some new sneakers... I want to get the BFG ALL TERRAIN TA. I can't find them in the stock(275/65/18) size for my wheel. So I have a question. What is the largest/widest tire I can safely put on my wheel? (6 x 18 wheel size)

Thank you,

Don

A little more info on the truck would help. Also, where on earth did you find an 18x6 wheel? That's really narrow. Even the OEM 17 and 18 inch wheels are 7.5 inches wide.

That's the same size factory tires my truck came with. I'm guessing you have a 4x4 and the stock wheels are 7 1/2 inches wide with 6 lugs. A 285x65x18 BFG AT which is close to 33 inches tall should fit if your truck is a 4x4.

That's what the tire guy said I have on the truck. Guess he was wrong. Thanks for the heads up!!!
I have a 04 FX4 4X4, with 55k on her. I have some decent mods and will update my signature soon. I had to re-register...
Looks like I will be getting the BFG ALL TERRAIN T/A's for her. Anyone have suggestions for the best price on-line? I am from the NH area. Anyone have suggestions in this area too?

Thanks again,

Don

At stock height, the 285/65-18 BFG AT KO would be a perfect fit. If you add a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit you can fit up to a 35x12.50 with minor rubbing on the control arms at full steering lock. BFG makes the AT KO in a 305/65-18 (34x12.50) that looks perfect with a leveling kit.

Thanks Wandell, I do have a 2" front leveling kit. I have not installed it yet... I am pretty sure I want to keep my stock wheels. They are in great shape... Will the 305/65-18 (34x12.50) fit my stock wheel? Or will I need to update the wheels to use this tire size?

Thanks,

Don

It will fit the stock wheel just barely. If 4wd thy will fit just fine.

Yes, they will fit/work fine with your OEM wheels.
