? for Paw Paw... Wandell...

Hey Paw Paw, I know your wheels are 17 x 8 Crush (which look great) and I know your running 315/70-17"s.... But I'm curious what the back spacing is for your wheels ?

My wheels are 17 x 8 Pro Comps, with a 4 1/2" back space and (little bitty) 285/70-17"s.

Now, even asside from your back spacing, I know your truck is a 4wd, and my is a 2wd.....

But I'm just curious if your 315/70-17"s would have (will) fit on my truck ?
Ya' know BTW, when the tire guy was putting them on, he said that the back side of the wheel itself was a very close fit... so close that he almost didn't have enough space for the static balancing weights !..... but on the other hand, he said that the tire clearence actually had space to spare....

Hmmmm.....

Paw Paw ? Wandell ? Anyone ?

Thank you,
Fish

His wheels have 5.5 inches of backspacing. You will not be able to fit 35's on your truck without lifting it.
Also, the reason clearance is so tight (within the wheel) is because the brakes are so large. This is why you cannot fit a wheel smaller than 17 inches on the 04-08's.

Chris, just like Wandell said my wheels have 5 1/2 inches of BS, if your wheels had this backspacing I think you could have fit a 295 or 305x70 or a 305x65 tire. I think it look's great with the 285's. In about 50 or 60k miles when you wear 'em out you can go larger!

Thank you guys.....

Yea'...... In only 50K or 60K miles :-)

I just have a little bit of the "big tire envy" going on.....

Peace,
Fish

PS, "Big brakes" don't sound like such a bad thing though....
