Just got some BFG A/Ts

Well after awhile of debate, I had decided to go with the BFG A/Ts due to their long life. So I was just waiting until I had the funds, when I found a set of 4 BFG A/Ts 285/75/16 on craigslist for $150. Guy said tires had about 10k on them, and he got bigger tires, and wanted to get them gone. Tires look great, and had some of the hairs still on them. Just got them mounted and balanced, and I couldn't be happier. Priced them just the other day at about $200 a tire new, so I figure I got a steal of a deal.

I know worthless without pics. So I'll try to get new pics this weekend.

Hey JNC....

Those 285/75-16"s are just about the exact same height and width as the BFG 285/70-17"'s that I got on my truck last week, and I have to say, I couldn't be happier with them so far ! They are quiet. They handle GREAT ! And they look great ! What more do you need from a tire ?

I'm sure you will love them :-)

And you stole them too ! What a deal !

Peace,
Fish

Thats exactly what I filled them to, but for some reason, the fronts bulge a little. Looks like they are low, but they are filled the same as the rear

Theres a lot more weight on the front tires than the rear. Radial tires will always bulge slightly, it's no big deal.

35 - 40 psi is always best for that type of size. Just keep rotating when due. Post up some pictures!

I have the same size. I love 'em! Great highway manners and when aired down are very impressive for an A/T.

I run my fronts at 38 and rears at 36.

Good price on em! They're darn near new.

What gears do you run and how did the gearing affect power, mileage etc?
I'm looking at either 285/ or 265/75-16s for my 97 with 3.55 gears.

3.55 LS. Power was the same, since I bought the truck with 285s on. Truck has plenty of power. I noticed the power difference in it and my stock 04, but since I've stopped driving it, truck feels like it has plenty of power to do its job.
Thought about changing to 4.10 down the road, but Im in no rush, since it cost so dang much.
