2002 F150 scab tire size

I'm going to 2 sets of wheels with winter/summer tires. Original factory size is 235/70/16. I have the optional factory size of 255/70/16. There aren't too many "winter tire" offerings in the 255/70/16 range, compared to other sizes. How large can I go in tire size, on the original wheels, without having to play with lift kits, leveling kits, tire rub problems, etc.?

Any help would be appreciated...

Not certain if this will answer your question, but I've found this link helpful when needing to move up to larger wheels and wondering what circumference of wheel would be "normal" for clearance and speedo settings.

If you have a 4x2, I'd go with a 265/75-16. If you have a 4x4, I'd suggest a 285/75-16.
