I just installed the Edge programmer last week. Today i went to start my truck and it sputtered, then made a hiss sound like a purging of air sound. Once it started it now feels like i do not have power brakes, like back to the 60's drum brakes.. I have to push on the brakes with both feet just to get it to stop....The computer code on the edge says p1000 and system not ready....i dont know what this means...can anyone help..?

 

maybye it has something do to with abs?? ive never really heard of a pedal getting to hard to push.

 

check the vacuum line going to the brake canistor, sounds like a major vacuum leak some where. nothing to due with edge I think

 

Well i checked the fuses, nothing there...i then checked the brake vaccum line and found no vaccum going to the booster...i followed the line down behind the block. and from below i was able to reach my arm on top of the transmission. i felt a rubber hose off of a nipple that comes off the back of the block....after about 30mins of trying to get it back on i did and thats all she wrote...with out being able to see it, it was a little more difficult, but none the less...DONE...I guess the hissing sound that i heard when i started it before was this line being blown off....there is no clamp on it i guess just engine vaccum holding it on....until it blows the opposite direction...I love this site..
