Helo Maxx 6 did not fit!!!!!
I got back from Discount tire and they did not install my helo maxx 6 17x8 wheels on my bfg a/t's on my 2004 f150. The caliper was rubbing which did not let it sit flush. Im pissed. So now what to do? I have heard that I can shave down the caliper, or add a spacer to prevent the rub. Or should I just sell those rims, and buy brand new moto metal 951's? Any help immediatly would be appreciated.

Ford changed the brake calipers on the F150 some time during the 04-05 model years from a smaller caliper to a larger one. I've seen a few 04 f150's with the Maxx 6 in the 17, but only very few. That's why I went with the 18s to be safe. Sounds like your in a tuff spot already having 17 in tires now. I would try to sell the Helo's and then buy another wheel that fits.
If discount sold you the rims, make them take them back.

It is common that some 17s dont fit on the new Fords because of the caliper. It has been talked about on this forum many times and people would have told you to go with 18s. Too bad you weren't a member before you got the wheels. If you bought the wheels off of ebay, I would go and try to sell them on ebay to someone else. Then get a set of 18s. Good luck with your troubles.

Do you have a lot of money? I've never ordered wheels that I wasn't positive would fit. Was the stock wheel a 17"? Typically the standard factory wheel will be the smallest diameter that will fit - then they option you to larger. If the stock, baseline wheel was an 18", you are likely to have issues with most (if not all) 17".
