Wandell.......What size AS? Tire suggestions?

Wandell,
I have an 2005 XLT 2WD SCrew with OE tires and rims. I have on order the MB Gunner 6's in the anthracite silver in a 17" rim. I'm looking at the BFG All Terrain T/A KO, LT285/70R17. What size AS will I need to get to allow these to fit? The 2.0 or the 2.5? I do not plan to go any bigger, so I'd rather get the AS that fits the best from the start.

Also, what does everyone think of this tire? I've looked at a comparable Nitto and Goodyear...I thought the goodyear had too much sidewall design. That minor aesthetic preference aside, is the a better tire for city-highway driving with occasional off-road/mud?

I have always liked the BFG's its a great on/off road tire and they do last a long time. I would say go with the 2.5 AS

the mighty wandell will answer you shortly.

I'd stick with the 2". The 2.5" will raise the front slightly higher than the rear. If you plan on adding an add-a-leaf the 2.5" would be the way to go.

The bfg is a good tire, I went with the Toyo OC A/T's.

Either one should allow you to fit the 33's.
