Question for the tire guru's here...

I tried searching for the answer but I couldn't find exactly my configuration. Here's my question. I have a 2005 SuperCrew 4x4 (completely stock - no lift) with Goodyear 275x65x18.

What is the biggest tire I can get without having any issues and without any lifts or suspension mods.

Also, I drive the truck almost every day about 45 miles each way to work. All highway miles so a tire that performs OK at high speeds is highly recommended.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

PS. Based on what I've read, I'm thinking a 305x65x18 may do the trick. Is that correct?

Yeah, I'd consider the 285/65-18 (33x11,50) or 305/65-18 (34x12.50) BFG AT KO

So the BFG 305/65/18 AT's on a stock wheel will fit on a stock supension 2004 and up 4x4? Are you guys 90% or more sure of this? I'm not questioning your knowledge, I just want to be sure of your thoughts. I'm considering removing my 2" AS and have said tires. I thought for sure I would need to go down to 33's or smaller without the leveling kit. Is anybody running these tires with the stock set-up? Thanks for any clarification you can give me.

you could fit the 305 would probly have to trim a little up front, personally I would go with the 285/65, will fit great and will have no issues at all.

and wow, digging that thread up from the grave!

I agree. You may have to do some trimming with 305's without a leveling kit.

When I bought my truck (used) at a dealership it had 35x12.5x18 mt's on stock wheels with NO leveling kit! It rubbed at full lock but that was it. I installed a kit later just for that beefy look.

Thanks guys. Sorry to ressurect a dead thread but it was the only place I saw somebody say that you could possibly run the 305/65/18 on a stock 4X4 so I thought I'd try to follow up on it. Like I said I have those tires and was debating on taking out my 2"AS. It osunds like the issue is rubbing with the fenders and trim, not necessarily the suspension compenents. Is that a fair statement? There is no doubt those tires woulc be really stuffed in there on a stock suspension. I guess since I don't want to do any trimming I will stick with the AS for now. Although Vinson's comments are making me think twice.
