Unhappy Please Help

i have a 06 screw Fx4 and i really hate the traction of the stock 275/65/18. I really cant find a good all terrian in that size. The only thing close is a 285/65/18. What is the really difference in the size and will they fit without a leveling kit. Include some pictures if anyone has them. Thanks

The 285/65-18's (33x11.50) will fit fine. THey will be about 1/2 inch wider and close to 1/2 inch taller than your OEM tires.

I really dont want to do a leveling kit. I have seen some guys on the forums that are running a leveling kit with these tires. Are you sure they will no rub. Will my local tire shops mount these wheels. Thanks

I have them on my truck now with no level and no rubbing whatsoever. Tons of room. 2004 FX4 4x4.

Question 285/65/18 At

Okay, I am also looking at the Nitto 285/65/18 Grappler (10 ply). I have a 2004 F150 4X4 Lariat, factory tires 275/65/18. Abit confused about the wheel size as many replies have quoted factory wheels at 7.5" width. Discount Tire quotes the 2004 OEM as an 8.5" wide wheel, 18" diameter. I am looking at purchasing the Moto Metal 951 18X9, with a -12mm offset. I figure with the 9" rim, the -12mm offset and the tire size quoted above (285) I should get about 1.5" to 2" max width outside the wheel well. Is this correct?

I do not have a lift or leveling kit, so do you know if there will be any rubbing? Also, I've heard that the negative offset can add additional stress to the suspension and potential steering kickback. Should I really be concerned with -12mm? All factory thus far.

Discount tire has quoted the above with drive out at $2,000; pretty fair I think!

Thanks

That will probably rub quite a bit. The factory 18" wheel is 7.5" wide with 5.5" BS. Yours is 9" wide with only 4.5" backspace. Couple that with a larger tire and you're gonna rub.
