17's or 18's

I have a 06 screw fx4 and i was wondering can i fit a 17in wheel or does it have to be a 18 like it came from the factory.

17's should work but that's as small as you can go. Are you going to keep the stock suspension or are you lifting it? Why do you want 17's? If you lift it at all I say stick with the 18's personally. But 17's are probably cheaper to buy tires for so I can understand that decision as well. Hope this helps. Any other questions, keep em comin. Good luck.

I agree. I'd stick with 18's because there seems to be a better selection of tires. As for fitment, Ford changed to larger brake calipers sometime during the 2005 model year. This is causing fitment problems with some (but not all) aftermarket 17 inch wheels.

I second sticking with the 18". I went with 17", with 35" tires and although they look good, I've seen f150's with 18" and the wheel tire combo just seems to look bigger on the truck. Optical illusion?

If you are looking more at the price point then by all means go with 17".

Just another opinion, and you know what they say about those.
