My girlfriend has an '04 4x4 and has 265 maxxis mudders on the stock 17" rims. We want to put at least 285's and 16' rims on it but have heard that 16' rims have problems clearing the brake caliper or something. Is this true? I dont know much about fords, i stick mainly with jeeps, so any help is appreciated.

correct. and depending on when in 04 her f150 was made some aftermarket 17" rims wont fit either.

16's will fit on an 04 heritage, but not an 04 new body style.

 

Good point, Is her truck a hertiage (old body style) or the new body style?

 

It's the new body style. Just curious, why won't they fit?
