I am suprised at the lack of .....

I am bewildered at all the concerns about what tires fit what wheels etc...

Seems to me the most logical place to start when concerned about wheels, tires and size would the with GEAR RATIO'S....

Take 2 XTL's, 4x4's, 5.4's, Reg-Cab, Styleside, 8-ft box, BUT one F-150 has standard 3:55's/3:73's [ ] and the other with optional 4:10's[ ].

Which gear ratio will operate better when larger tires & wheels are added?

So, if Kon Crete and As Falt are your buddy's who needs to care about gear ratio's...hardest thing your truck will have to do is get up your drive way...

The 4:10's would definetly work better with bigger tires/wheels. If you went up to 33's with the 4:10's it should feel they way the truck feels with the stock tires on 3:73 gear ratio. If you went with a 35 I would recommend going with 4:56 gear ratio but if the 4:10's are optional thats awesome.

People don't talk about gears as much as tire size because it is more costly to change the gearing than tires on 4wd trucks.

4.10:1 rear end is only availible on the heavy payload package which is <2% of the market.

i agree with all this first thing all should think about is gear ratios large tires aint so great if your truck cant handle them if im not mistaken i believe 2 members here are running 37's on 3.55's one a 4.6 and the other a 5.4 hurts me just thinking about the added stress to the drivetrain

I don't consider the heavy payload package the Top F-150 marrket, especially when it is not availbile on any Supercrew or the King Ranch model. I know what you meant, though.
