305/65-18's on 8.5" rims

I went with 1" wider rims but Discount Tire said they would mount them on my stock rims with no problems. I paid $287 per tire but they gave me $75 per tire trade-in for my "take off" Rugged Trails that had 20k miles on them. Also, I have a 2.5" Daystar leveling kit.

michigunman - do you have any rubbing with them and did you have to trim anything?

I have a 05 screw lariat 4x4 and have the 2" AS and these tires and stockers, they ride nice and do not rub at all, and they make the truck look big. I would recommend these tires to anyone.

just like "cope" i have been looking for pictures on here for a 4x4 with a 2" or 2.5" leveling kit, and 305/65/18's on stock wheels.

But i will post some within the next 48 hours as i plan on putting a leveling kit on my truck today and then getting the 305 BFG AT's put on tommorow.

The wheels are MB Motoring "Blitz" in 18X8.5 6-135 25MM. Not sure about the backspacing or how to interpret the 25MM, maybe you or someone else does. These are produced for Discount Tire.

Backspacing is 5.75"....there is a backspacing/offset conversion chart a little ways down on this page:

hmmm, I might have to take them up on this & get some 35" Mud Grapplers

Any of yall use these BFGs offroad on shale/gravel/sand stuff? Or in the mud?
Only mud I have used mine on has been clay or sand/clay mix. The BFG's don't work well with it. Have done some trails with sand/gavle and been happy with them. They plow through sno like it was nothing. Only have 265's on mine and have taken the truck throguh snow deep enough that the rear pumpkin was leaving marks in the snow and I didn't have to think about 4WD, only used it breifly to aid in getting started from a stop. Also work very well on ice. Both are very important here in MN.

BFG 305/65/18's on Stock Wheels with 2.5" Leveling Kit

So I installed the 2.5" leveling kit made by NCD customs. Then had the 305/18 BFG A/Ts installed. Removed the stock running boards to add to the visual illusion of added height. Then finally got an alignment, due to the toe in effect caused by leveling kits.

After 2 days of driving it (on road only) and looking at it; i am extremely pleased. It has a clean look and drives almost like it did before these modifications. So far, from what i can tell, there has been no rubbing. There seems to only be a slight amount of additional road noise but not enough to get annoying like with some M/Ts.

Overall i recommend these modifications and TIRES to anyone out there looking for a subtle change in ride height and appearance.
