please help!

I know this is going to sound lame.. my little brother order some 16" wheels.. and im almost positive they will not fit his 2004 (older body style) ext cab 2wd STX... they come on stocker 17" rims.. for brake clearance right? please help me out, they are suppost to ship them out tomm... and maybe i can beat them too it... discount tire told him they will... and most of the people that worked there are idiots..

You said his truck was a 2004 older body style. Do you mean its the same body style as the 97-03's? Because I thought the only models that still had the old styling in 2004 were the Heritage Edition and the Lightning. However, if it is the older style then 16" wheels should fit. Most of the older body styles came standard with 16" with the exception of some lariat and fx4 / off-road packages. Now if it's the newer style, I'm pretty sure I've read on here that you can't go below 17" due to the inability to clear the brakes. So the answer I believe is...older body style = no problem...newer body style = no go. Hope to get some others on here to either agree with me or set me straight. Hope it was some help.

If an 04 heritage, 97-03 body style, they should fit, assuming the correct backspacing and lug pattern was bought. If an 04 new body style, no they will not fit.

oh i see.. its an STX... they all come with stockers 17's... and disc brakes all around... its the older style (like the 97-03) thanks
