spare tire question

hello all,
is the spare tire the same size on a 2005-2006 F150 2DW regardless if you have a XLT, Lariat, KingRanch, FX4 etc....

Reason I want to know is b/c I have an XLT and I want to put 18" FX4,KR wheels on there and certainly want my spare to be able to be used if necessary.

OK thanks all,
Edward

my best advice to you would be to climb under there and find out. Compare the tire size to that of the tires you want to put on the truck. That said, I have 20" Pacer five spokes with 45 series tires (too small, I think I'm going to 55s next time around) on them and I used the stock spare when I blew a tire moving from SC to WA (thank you Albuquerque discount tire for the quick turn-around). The spare was a bit off, but worked long enough to get me a new tire.

just my .02.

A different size spare won't hurt you if you have an open rearend.

If you have limited slip, you should put the spare on the front.
If the flat happens to be in the back, that means you have to change two tires.

Edward, I have some FX4 Rims 4sale and I am also looking to upgrade my spare to a 35" tire so I do not have to worry about flats. Send me a email with your contact info and I will give you a call-I am in Daytona Bch.
