wandell please contact me

I know this is weird but it sounds like you know your stuff and I have a question. Please email me david.weiland@hotmail.com. The deal is I just got a blow out on my stock tire and since I need to replace all four tires now I would like to get some bigger tires but still keep the stock rims and not mess with lifting the truck. Thanks, Dave

No, I don't have IM. If your truck is a 4x4, you can run a 35x12.50 if you also add a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit and use the OEM wheels. If you don't want to add a leveling kit or want to run aftermarket wheels, stick will a 33 inch tire. Do you have 17 or 18 inch wheels.

Then you need something sligtly smaller. If you add a leveling kit, you could run 33's (285/70-17, 33x12.50-17, 285/65-18, etc) using the OEM wheels. If you don't want a leveling kit, I'd stick with a 32 inch tire like a 265/70-17 or 275/65-18. Do you have 17 or 18 inch wheels?

What is a leveling kit? I have the 17 inch rims. Since I dont have the leveling kit you recommend 265/70-17. I am not questioning your knowledge but I was just curious where you got all this info from? Thanks, Dave

A leveling kit basically a spacer that will lift the front of your truck enough to make it sit level, rather than nose down. Since you don't have one, I'd stick with a 265/70-17 or smaller tire.
As for where I get all this info from, it's right here. I don't know why this stuff sticks in my head, but it does.

Wandell, you are amazing. In the hundreds of posts you have done, I don't think anyone has ever said you steered them wrong. Thanks for all your help.

Either one would be fine and allow you to fit a 285/70-17 or a 33x12.50 using your OEM wheels.

285/70-17 or a 33x12.50 What is the diff? Could I put these bigger tires on before getting the spacers? Do you know where I could see pics of the three diff tire size examples on some stock 04 F150 2 wheel drive trucks? Thanks again. You are the MAN!!!

A 285/70-17 is basically a 33x11.50. So basically it is the same height as a 33x12.50, but an inch narrower. I'm not sure if either will fit without a leveling kit. The best place to see some pics would be here. Maybe someone will post some pics or you could start a new thread asking to see pics.
