tire size for 97 2wd

I have a set of aftermarket 16X8 wheels on my 2wd 97 F-10. Im loooking at getting new tires for it soon and i was wondering if any one has sugestions about a good at tire. Im looking at the nitto terra grappler, or bfg at. Obviously cost matters so the nitto's seem a better deal. Does anyone have any comments about those tires. My main question is what size tire i can fit on my truck. It is a 2wd but i have 1.5 inch spacers in the front so it sits higher. I want to fit 285-75-16 but i dont want rubbing either. can i fit those or is it down to 265's?

Both are excellent tires. It will be tight but I think you can squeeze a 285/75-16 on there, depending on the backspacing of you wheels. I'm sure they would fit with the OEM wheels.

Well no one in town thinks those tires will fit on my truck. They all say it will rub against the inner fenderwell on turns. I went through and measured and it all seemed like it would work. THey were willing to sell me a 275/70/16 tire. I cant believe that the 1/4 inch difference on either side makes the difference but hey. So i had to step down to the 267/75/16 bfg at's. Im a little disapointed but hey. Has anyone ever put 285-75-16's on a stock or slightly(1.5 inch) lifted 150?

I've seen a few, but it's a tight fit.
