2006 F150 FX4 Tire Size

I have searched and have not found this one answered. I have a 2k6 F150 FX4 with BFG Rugged Trail P275/65 R18 currently on it. I am thinking of getting a set of Toyo Open Country 33" x 12.50" x 18" Tires. Do I have to use a leveling kit to keep the tires from rubbing? If so, what would be the largest size I could go to w/o one. Thank you.

you can do a 33x12.5 without the leveling kit... that is the max size before you need a kit though to fit 34, 35's you need 2-2.5"

Is there a difference in the height of an 06 FX4 and an 06 XLT 4x4 ( non FX4 )? In other words if I have an XLT 4x4, will my limit be the same?

thanks the power loss with 33's is minimal, 35's is noticeable. but with an XCal2 now, all that loss is made up for plus some...
the speedo was off about 4 mph... -it wasn't dead on out of the factory either though...

if your actively looking for a guard, The WAAG is pretty nice- (the brand that i have) you can get it with or without the headlight guards. keeps the tow hooks- supports at the bottom, and at the middle where the hood closes- pretty stout piece of equipment-
