Thanks to this site...Finally put new shoes on my 02 Screw

I just posted my pictures in the "Show off your tires and rims" thread but I wanted to add a little more detail in my own thread. Plus, I owe the members of this site a great deal of gratitude for my purchase. I've been on the forum for a while and asking a few questions here and there and I'm sure some of you were wondering if I was ever actually just gonna make a decision. Finally did. Thanks to anyone who ever answered my questions (especially Wandell). Ok...so here's the scoop.

I hope there are still enough original body style supercrew owners to appreciate and utilize this post.

I finally purchased new wheels and tires. I went with the 20x10 Motto MT700's and the 305/55/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers (These are 33"). (Important info on the wheels: they have 4.5" of backspacing) I do not have any installed lift in my truck (it is an FX4). The modifications I needed to make for my truck was a small crank of the torsion bars (3/4" to 1") and some trimming of the plastic valence up front.

*Sorry to break the flow here but I have to give tremendous kudos to Planet Pickup here in San Antonio. If any of you are in the area, I highly recommend them. I purchased new KYB Gas-A-Just shocks through them and had them crank my torsion bars and give me an alignment. When I picked it up he had done these and did a great job trimming the valence (can't tell its done unless you know what to look for) and he didn't charge me for the crank or the trimming! Maybe thats the norm, but I was impressed.*

Ok, so here are the pictures I took. You can also just click on my gallery if you'd like. Feel free to let me know what you think (if you don't like them, be gentle!)

...Final Continuation

Back of Front Tire (Tire turned outward) - Shows the little space between back of front tire and fender wall

This last picture is the only one of concern. There is obviously a slight rub as you crank the wheel to full turn. The rub only happens on the tire that is turning away from the truck. Can / Should I do some trimming? If so, what and how do I do it? Thanks for all the help and let me know what you think.

Looks real good, I like big rims and all terrains, modern off road look. I'm looking at 305's myself and I like how wide they look, good buy man.

Thanks...Wandell, Should I Trim?

Thanks for ya'lls responses. I'm obviously excited. Wandell, should I or can I trim the back of my fender wall to make room for that full crank turn or should I just leave it alone?

Looks super nice!! I still like the previous body style. I had a 2001 before trading for my 06 and really enjoyed it. To me there seams to be more aftermarket parts available. I like the color and I agree the wide stance looks excellent. Not trying to be critical but if the front was raised ever so slightly as to "EVEN" her out it would be perfect to me. Nice choice of wheels and tires... BoB

Thanks Wandell, I respect your opinion so I'll leave it alone. Thanks for the input. Thanks to everyone else too.

BlueOval - Yeah I haven't decided whether I want to completely level it out yet or not. If I did level with a little more crank on the torsion bars, would the amount necessary to achieve this require another alignment?

Hello RUSS10SCREW, I was just commenting on personal preference. My truck also needs a little leveling but in my situation my rear is slightly lower than the front. I did install a add-a-leaf but but i still need a little more to level mine out.

As for cranking T-bars.. I know nothing about whats required after adjusting them. The master "Wandel" would know whats required after adjusting torsion bars.

Your truck looks awesome! I love the color and wheel/shoe choice. I did not mean to sound critical.

No, not at all. No worries. Thanks for the compliments. As long as someone doesn't come on just ripping the mods people have already made, I respect all input. Thats what this forum is for, so people with F-150's can get feedback and input from other people with F-150's. I think my wife wishes I would quit reading these forums so I'd quit coming up with all these great ideas on how to improve my truck.

You're truck looks awfully nice too by the way. I love those exhaust tips. Which system is that?
